Over the past year, I have been devoting my time to charity. Through New York Cares, I was able to volunteer at everything from soup kitchens, to meal/food delivery for Seniors, to gardening on Governors Island, to packing kits for homeless. Of all the activities I’ve done, volunteering leaves me with a sense of calm, fulfillment and gives me a look the best of humanity in my community. I can’t wait to continue this act of giving.

On March 8th we celebrate International Women’s Day for all the females who made a difference. I pay homage to all those firecrackers with a painting in my Female Silhouette Series that highlights women being the SUN, the light and warmth the world needs. Painted with delicate watercolors, we are reminded she is delicate yet fiery. How do you celebrate those women in your life that made a difference?
The next step in creating my interactive LED head piece is Soldering and attaching the circuit boards and wiring to the Arduino. The above shots are various stages in this step. Overall, the precision and delicate hand of soldering has made the challenge all the more interesting. Stay tuned for the next step: coding!
