I took a day to really relax and enjoy the possibilities on my canvas. At the moment, I am enamored with the sculptor August Rodin. The flow and ease of his pieces has inspired me to take those silhouettes and capture the same feel on a watercolor piece. This work in progress piece is definitely a labor of love. Using both LEDs and EL WIRE, I am planning on installing a mirror like piece in the center to capture those beams of light and to illusions of a mirror. I will keep you posted on the final product! I was surprised at both the layers of colors and use of mixed paints I used with ease. It turned out even better than I imagined it and only showed me to try outside of my comfort zone. It&rsquo;s still me with the metallic flair after all. I hope to do more of these in the future. Through New York Cares, I was able to volunteer at everything from soup kitchens, to meal/food delivery for Seniors, to gardening on Governors Island, to packing kits for homeless. Of all the activities I&rsquo;ve done, volunteering leaves me with a sense of calm, fulfillment and gives me a look the best of humanity in my community. I can&rsquo;t wait to continue this act of giving.
